a rainbow of macarons happiness

August 4, 2010

copyright (c) blog.woolloomooloosky.com all rights reserved

as you might’ve noticed, i love macarons! :)  they’re so cute and pretty, but i don’t really eat lots. one of these delightful dessert is enough to satisfy the palette of anyone who has a sweet tooth.  ;)  i enjoy pairing it with a strong cup of aromatic tea to balance it out. :)

after my first spontaneous try on making my first set of these cute dessert, and again for this artshow piece, followed by the bridesmaids’ gift bag custom orders, i’m really loving my little needlefelted macarons. :)  so, i made this set of assorted flavors as a surprise birthday gift for a dear friend. :)   hehe, a little rainbow of happiness goes a long way! :)   these are in strawberry, green tea, lemon, orange, chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, and lavender flavors. ^^  which flavor(s) do you like? :)  xoxo!

mother’s day is coming up this weekend…in a couple of days actually! ;)  here’s a little bookmark i made for my mom for mother’s day this year. (the photos of the uglydoll ox and my favorite french macarons were snapped fairly recently with the iphone.  they were intended to have that soft tone. ) ^^

if you have not gotten anything for your mommy, please feel free to print one out for her or you may print it for your own personal use if you like. :)  happy reading and have a most wonderful mother’s day weekend!! ^-^/ xoxo

color palettes and paint brush plushies

December 9, 2009

mixing palette + paint brush plushies set

i made these for the “no more monkeys jumping on the bed” plush & paint group show currently showing at monkeyhouse toys & art gallery in silver lake, los angeles.  please come by if you are in the area.  there are tons of awesome pieces in the show. :)  and as some of you know, monkeyhouse toys & art gallery will be closing their retail space after this month.  i’m really sad to hear.  please continue to support them via their webstore.  they will always have a special place in my heart.  the monkey on my plush palette is the logo for monkeyhouse.  the idea behind this piece is that even after monkeyhouse closes its retail door, they will still live on forever through joyful rainbows of their love for the art.  and of course, as in all my pieces, there’s always that red or pink heart somewhere. ^^  i especially love the little paint brush.  :)  if you’re interested in my piece, please contact info@monkeyhousetoys.com, thanks. :)

bridemaids macarons

November 27, 2009

i love french macarons very much, and a recent photo i took/styled inspired me to try my hands on making some needlefelt macarons.  it was for this custom project that got me sitting down one late night/early morning and tried making my first piece.  i was utterly happy that it came out pretty yummy, so i started making a box of them as part of my custom.  though each macaron took 40-50mins to make, it was so much fun working on them (despite some bleeding from the careless needle-poking :p)!  :)  the second photo below shows the macarons in green tea, strawberry, lavender, mocha, and lemon flavors.

22 b c2009www

recently, i was commissioned a custom order of my needlefelt macarons by a bride-to-be as part of lovely things she included in the bridesmaids gift bags.  words can’t express how happy i am whenever someone enjoy and appreciate my little crafts/amateur art pieces. (thank you so much!!!  and i’m really honored to have contributed in a small way to your special day!!)

if you’re interested to commission me custom orders for these needlefelted macarons, please contact me with the details (date you need them for, the occasion, any special flavors you prefer, quantity, etc.)  when enquiring, please bear in mind that i don’t use patterns, so every piece won’t be in the same size, that each needlefelt macaron takes almost an hour to make, and that i’m not a full-time crafter. ;)  thanks and have a wonderful weekend!  xoxo! :)

tic-tac-macaroons + happiness is…

September 23, 2009

tic-tac-macaroons game set
"happiness is..." framed

i made this set of tic-tac-macaroons (as in tic-tac-toe + mini french macaroons) game piece and a framed print of my “happiness is…” photo as my donation pieces for firefly – a charity art show & sale to benefit junkiri school, hopeful vocational school & children for green new nepal, for gala at monkeyhouse toys & art gallery (sep 19-30)  i’m abit embarrassed not having enough time to make better pieces for this show, but i did have fun working on the game piece. :)  100% of proceeds will go to charity.  if you’re interested in adopting them for a good cause, please contact info@monkeyhousetoys.com   thanks! xoxo :)

September 10, 2009

welcome to cafe lunartik! ^-^/

here’s serving you a joyful tea special of the month… ^_~

“lunartree in a cup of leaves”
- with some french macaroons
(in green tea, strawberry, lemon, mocha, and lavender flavors)
- a choice of soothing l.u.n.a.r.t.i.k. tea bag
- with just the perfect spoonful of green tea leaves and two cubes of sugar… ^^

lunar-tree in a cup of leaves ^_~

i finally had a chance to get online, and got around to posting this overdue photos of my humble custom lunartik in a cup of leaves.  i definitely think i went abit overboard with the custom, but, like everything i make…be in crafts or clothing, i’ve always really enjoyed working on every single piece of them, and the creating/designing process is always a joy. :)  hope you like it, and that it’ll make you smile too just looking at it. :)  the awesome tea tour party had made its first stop in london (until sep 7) at “the forbidden planet“. the next tour date will be on sep 17-28 at “outland gallery” in amsterdam (matt jones will be there on sep 19 for the signing, so please come say hi to him if you’re in the area, and check out the amazing custom tea cups by all the other really talented artists! ^^) xoxo!

custom “lunartik in a cup of tea” sneak peek

August 16, 2009

custom "lunartik in a cup of tea" sneak peek...

if you have not heard of the wonderful and super talented matt jones (aka lunartik jones), you gotta check out his amazing work!!   matt did an awesome custom resin lunartik in a cup of tea for me few years ago, and he was so sweet to include a really cute painting with the custom. :)  so few months ago, when matt invited me to join him and a group of amazing artists to custom a diy lunartik in a cup of tea for his tea tour and toy release party, i am utterly happy and humbly honored to get on board on this fun project! :)  here is a little teaser sneak peek of my custom.  i will post a few more detailed sneak peek photos of the finished custom soon. :)  though in between this project, i had a little personal matter to attend to and had to be away for almost two weeks, but i really really enjoyed working on this custom and it put a smile back on my face whenever i looked at it.  hope you will like it when you get a chance to see it at the tea tour party (or via photos if you can’t make it there, like myself :p)  thank you so much again, matt, for including me on your tea touring party!! :)  xoxo ^^
